AOB (Angry Old Bastards) is a gaming clan (in the loosest sense) that started in Australia, but now spans the globe (one of us now lives in London, temporarily). AOB is not all about games, we’re basically a bunch of mates that love to have a laugh at anything, or anyone. AOB members have been abusing eachother (with the written word) on the AOB Forums for years, as well as gaming online and at LANs since the last millenium.
Here’s a bit of history about the group :
Ford and Scoobs formed Clan GOG with Anaesazi in the late 1990s, and then went on to put together the Angry Old Bastards with members of LOL (Archangel/Optimus and others) in about the year 1999. Because the Clan is meant to be about fun gaming with mates, it was decided that members should try to take on cartoon nicks rather than ‘leet’ ones like ‘ph3armY13375k1llz’. It’s also harder to get an inflated ego with a name like Gadget, or Stimpy…. In those distant times of the past, Scoobs helped Fordp run and police the excellent and popular Reign of Death servers. In the GOG days it was all about HL Deathmatch, then CS came along and conquered all, with AOB CS nights attracting 20 players at a time. In the last couple of years the gaming scene fragmented and D2, D2:LOD, BF1942, DC, CS:S, War3, BFME, all were played and eventually left behind, although AOB’s ranks of servers have been maintained under various guises. Now BF2 and WoW have arrived and hold sway over the members of AOB, and the glory days are upon AOB again, or so Scoobs hopes!
