The vent panel in the middle of the console needs to be removed, but it’s easy  Use a flat headed screwdriver again, around the edges, and it just pops out.
Part 6
In order to release the head-unit, there is a single screw that needs to be undone. Unfortunately, it’s in a difficult place. You’ll need a socket wrench, extender and socket. In the picture below, in the gap in the top left corner, the screw can be found. Get your socket & extender up in there and you’ll find it. The second picture below shows what you should be looking for, with the screw already removed.
Part 7
Slowly slide the head-unit out. This can be done by placing your fingertips in the recesses where the climate controls are and lifting upwards slightly whilst easing the unit out. The unit should only come out a few inches, any more and all of the cabling at the back may detattach. Tilt the face of the unit upwards, so the bottom of the unit slides out more than the top.
